BPA Testing
Bisphenol A(BPA , 4,4’-isopropylidenediphenol), is an important component of polymer, flame retardants and other chemicals, which are widely used to produce adhesives, coating, paints and building materials et al. BPA is directly bound up with human.
In the 1930s, it was reported that BPA is an estrogenic substance. Currently, there is much scientific debate concerning the potential for low dose of BPA to cause adverse reproductive and development effects in human. Because most studies examining the effects of? BPA? have been conducted on rats and other wild mammals, and few evidences to cite the potential for human.
However, same country have been published law and regulations with the baby bottles being forbidden containing BPA.
Norwegian：On 10 July 2008, the Norwegian State Pollution Control Authority (SFT) published a recommendation to restrict the use of selected substances in consumer products sold in Norway. The proposal lists 10 substances recommended for stricter regulation in Norway, and includes bisphenol A (BPA), together with a list of exemptions.
Canada：On 18 October 2008, Canada became the first country in the world to ban the import and sale of polycarbonate baby bottles containing bisphenol A.
USA：1) On 2 April 2009, The Suffolk County, New York, has recently approved the Toxin Free Toddler and Babies Act, banning the use of bisphenol A in beverage containers for children age three and under. This new act will take effect 90 days.
2) On 28 May 2009, Illinois bans bisphenol A in food and vessel prepared for children under 3 years old. It will be in effective from Jan 31, 2010.
